Common Disorders

Studies have shown that our society is spending more and more time on its feet. This, combined with the fact that a steadily increasing portion of our population is over the age of 60, has resulted in a drastic increase in the number of foot ailments reported every year. For example, an estimated five percent of the American population currently experiences some sort of foot infection. Further, another five percent complains of foot pain resulting from ingrown toenails.  Finally, an additional six percent reports other various foot problems, including bunions, flat feet, or fallen arches. Sometimes, these foot and ankle ailments can go unreported for years, leading to excruciating and unnecessary pain and discomfort.
