Plantar Fasciitis

This condition is caused by an inflammation of the plantar fascia, the long band of connective tissue that runs from the heel to the ball of the foot. Often, plantar fasciitis occurs in connection with heel spur syndrome, which is a bony overgrowth on the heel bone, which causes pain in both the heel and the arch. This condition is often caused by overuse of the feet without taking proper precautions. To protect against foot injuries that will develop into plantar fasciitis, individuals should warm up and properly stretch before engaging in strenuous exercise.
